Hamburger Review

Early of July’13, Brother John spotted a new burger restaurant that has just open for business along Jalan Tanjung Tokong. It is called Hamburger. They sell hamburger similar to Stack Burger in Siam road. Without hesitation, we have paid a visit to Hamburger on 8 July. Here is how the stall looks like.

Hamburger is located in front of the Sunflower bakery shop. In front of the bakery shot, it has a big open flat space which is suitable for small business likes Hamburger. There are plenty of parking around the Sunflower bakery. You do not need to worry about it.

Hamburger’s environment

In front of the bakery shop, they have placed around 7-8 tables for customer dining purpose. The table is just some simple plastic table and chair. It is an open air environment and you are actually sitting below the moon. You can enjoy the moon and burger in the same time. The only bad thing is that you can’t dine there when it is raining.

Hamburger’s Menu

It has 2 menus. First is the special menu  and the second is the standard menu. Here is how it looks like.

The menu is just a simple laminated sheet. It only consists of single page for the special menu and another page for standard menu. There are no pictures of the actual burger; you  may need to read thru the menu before order which is ok.

How does the burger taste?

We have ordered the Hamburger and the African safari. After we have made the order, we have the choice to choose the bread for the hamburger. There are 4 different type of bread available for us to choose. i.e. charcoal bread, English muffin, standard bread and the poppy seed bagel.

I have selected the bagel where as brother John selected the standard bread. The hamburger is prepared real time, after the order was made. The beef patty is being grilled on the pan, then transfer to the bread.  Hygiene level is still acceptable, but they did not wear any chef’s hat to prevent the hair from dropping to the hamburger.

Within 10 minutes, the hamburger is ready and being served to us. Here is how the actual burger looks like.  Each hamburger come with some fries.

African safari

Picture above show the African safari hamburger that I have ordered. It comes with lean ostrich burger with mushroom, pickles, vegetables,  carrots and a slide of cheddar cheese. Do not holds the burger as shown above as they sauce will leak to your hand, do hold the hamburger with the wrapper that come along.

The ostrich burger is kind of salty. I believe it is due to the pickles and it sauce. The bagel is kind of soft, which is kind of out of expectation. I would expect the bagel is hard on it shell but soft internally. You will need to spend some time to chew on the bagel.

Similar taste happens on The hamburger which order by Brother John. The beef patty is kind of loose and the overall taste is kind of salty. If you don’t like salty hamburger, you should notify the boss during the order been made.

Will I come again?

May be, the stall is near to my house. I do hope that they can improve the beef patty to be more solid and juicy like what I have in Stack burger. The taste will need to be less salty too.

  • Newly open on 1 July 2013. I tried the burger on 8th July
  • The overall taste of the burger is kind of salty, maybe it is due to the sauce and pickles.
  • The beef patty is kind of loose, need some improvement to catch up with Stacks Burger
  • Open environment, you can enjoy the burger and the moon together
  • Do not come if raining.
  • Lot of parking
  • Only canned drink available for selection.
